Fancharacters: Pero and the assassins' parents

I’ve had this photo sitting on my USB drive for so long. In fact, it’s been sitting there for too long.

So, here they are! The first few of my PnB fancharacters (with a whole lot more to come).

Charles - Pero’s dad

Darwin - The assassin cats’ dad

Renee - The Cat King’s youngest sister and the assassin cats’ mom.

Charles and Renee were born in the same year, 1500. After Renee and her older siblings, Napoleon and Heloise, were born, their mother, Queen Melanie, died from childbirth, leaving the eldest son Leonide (the Cat King) to take the throne. In 1502, the same year Darwin was born, the Dog Kingdom's army attacks the castle, causing the deaths of a few members of the cat army, and a few of Leonide and Renee’s siblings (Cyrille, Marcel, Napoleon, and Heloise; only). King Leonide and his remaining quintuplet siblings, Aymeric and Celia, fight all the dogs off aggressively in order to keep their baby sister Renee safe. Since then, King Leonide became more vicious and decides to grow his army so they could outnumber King Damiano's squad. Meanwhile, as Renee grew older, she began to blame herself for her mom’s death, but still grew up to be a sweet princess, as well as the leader of the Cat Army.

Charles and Darwin were both born in England. In 1519, nineteen year old Charles meets and develops a crush on seventeen year old Darwin, who was living with his emotionally abusive girlfriend since his parents kicked him out of the house for refusing to work at their owner’s market (due to his social anxiety). It was easy for Charles to see that Darwin’s girlfriend was absolutely possessive (ie. she was super clingy to the point where it made Darwin uncomfortable; she would never let Darwin leave the house without her), and that Darwin seemed scared of her (he was scared of almost everybody, but especially her). Feeling the need to get rid of the evil that was the girlfriend, Charles began “sword” training with knives and self-taught himself how to get away with murder.

Two years into Charles’s training, Darwin's girlfriend goes over to a friend's house for a sleepover, where Charles kills her in her sleep with a knife the friend had just used to make dinner. Her friend is framed for murder, and Charles convinces Darwin to leave the country with him.

Charles and Darwin arrive in France and get recruited into the army led by a fully grown Princess Renee. While Charles did want to learn more about fighting/killing, he skipped most of the training classes just to watch and admire Darwin. While Charles was in town, he meets Fleur, who took charge of the kingdom’s orphanage after her single mother passed away from illness. Charles ends up falling in love with Fleur while Darwin starts admiring Renee for her leadership and kindness towards a foreigner like him.

For the next couple of years, more fights between the Cat and Dog Kingdoms broke out, giving Charles and a now stronger Darwin their time to shine. The two become an unstoppable duo. Charles even makes his own tip for fighting: "Always get the ones who can strike you from a distance first." However, with each kill he makes, Charles sanity drops, and his desire for more bloodshed became apparent. Fearing for his reputation as king and his life, King Leonide convinces Charles to retire after only three years of fighting in the army. Charles decides to do so as long as Princess Renee hooks him up with Fleur. With Charles no longer there to assist him, Darwin once again becomes a nervous wreck. Renee then assures him that she'll be there to help him when absolutely necessary.

King Damiano of the Dog Kingdom, having failed to make an alliance with Xaviero Caligari, makes a deal with the Devil of Wrath, Satan. The Dog Kingdom army attacks the Cat Kingdom again, but this time they have a giant fire dragon with them. The dragon burned more than twenty cats alive. Before it could roast Darwin, Renee quickly throws a nearby bucket of water at the creature, which damages the dragon's leg. The dragon then goes for Renee, but Darwin charges at it starts to attack its foot while Renee orders the remaining soldiers to grab as much water as they can. Darwin & Renee take turns grabbing the dragon's attention until the soldiers put out almost all of the fires on the dragon's body. The dragon's powers are weakened, and it turns back into Satan before she retreats back into the underworld. The dog soldiers flee, and during the celebrate of the Cat Kingdom's victory at dinner, Leonide gives praise to his sister and to Darwin for their bravery.

After that...

1528 - Charles and Fleur get married.

1529 - Darwin and Renee get married.

1530 - Pero is born.

1532 - The assassin twins, Volaire & Ardace, are born.

1537 - Gideon is born.
